This jeepney sticker just caught my attention. Ilagay ba ang fezz ni Gloria sa isang “God-knows-Hudas-not-pay” na sticker.

First year second sem sa UP: The Acads Edition

Second sem was waaaay better than first sem. Aside from making new friends, my grades went up and I was able to fulfill my goal of becoming a CS (actually US talaga goal ko kaya lang di keribells). Hihihi <3

Anyway, this entry will just contain my experiences and thoughts on the GEs that I took last sem.

Comm 3

Ah, the subject that almost every freshman in UPD took. Hehe. Nevertheless, I learned a lot from this subject. I may not have completely gotten over my fear of public speaking, though it somehow lessened because of this course.

As for the prof, sobrang fun ni Sir Serquina! Lalo na yung activities! One time, nag-karaoke kami sa class niya. Tapos may blind date din. Hahaha.

Math 100

The supposedly uno-able subject. Pffft. Di naman eh. Though it’s relatively easier than Math 17. Unlike before in Math 17 na I worry a lot dahil baka mabagsak ko yung subject, di ko na  naman na-feel yun dito sa Math 100. Tapos may bonus pa si Sir Wong na minus .25 ka na if you passed all his quizzes and if your standing is passing. Ehe.

Physics 10

High School Physics. Yun ata yung nagpababa sakin eh. Haha. Yun lang.

PE 2 – Judo

Sobraaaang fun nitong PE na to. By default nga lang ehe. Not bad.

Pan Pil 12

One of my favorite GEs. Maraming readings pero I didn’t find it hassling kasi aside from the fact na easy-read lang yung karamihan sa readings, relevant pa. At ang ganda rin nung readings. Kung babasahin mo sila akala mo simpleng stories lang, but it’s so surprising when it comes to our discussion kasi andaming made-derive na cultural and philosophical analysis from it so sobrang mapapaisip ka talaga critically. And ang cool pa ni Ma’am Barbaza! Though lagi kaming may quiz before discussing the readings and ma-group report.

Kas 1

I took this under Ma’am Abrera. To be honest, ito yung hatest subject ko for the sem. Hassle kasi. Basta ayoko tong course na to, thus the grade.

Although I hated this course, ito actually yung isa sa mga courses na nag-develop ng critical thinking (naks) ko regarding the current issue on RH bill and overpopulation. Back when I was in high school, agree ako sa RH bill. Until we watched a film entitled Demographic Winter: the decline of the human family. This documentary served as a rebuttal of the said bill. Then and there I realized how uncritical I am. That, also, is what our fellow Filipinos do. We are so uncritical kaya madali tayong mauto.

Di man mataas grade ko dito at ayoko man tong subject na to, I’m thankful that I took this because it allowed me to think critically, which is important not just in being an Iskolar ng Bayan but also in being a citizen of this country.

So there. That’s pretty much my academic life last sem. Teehee!
